We would love to have more volunteers to enable us to open our lovely garden more often and to help us make the garden more beautiful and productive. Volunteers don’t need any gardening skills – you’ll learn those on the job. It seems such a pity to have this fantastic garden but because we only have a few volunteers we can only open once or twice a week. So, come along, give us a try and perhaps you’ll like it so much that you’ll become a regular part of our team.
Or, just come and watch the birds, eat some fruit or plant some seeds. You will get a warm welcome whether you come to work, to play, to sit for a while and regenerate your batteries or to buy some produce.
Bring your children or grandchildren along during the holidays. There are always masses of exciting things to do from pond dipping, bird watching, planting seeds, picking fruit and vegetables to reading a book or playing in the sand pit.
In addition to our normal opening hours, we have open days to celebrate the garden. These are free events with a theme such as Easter or Apples and are advertised through local posters, on our Events Page and through our Facebook page.
Come along and chat to us or drop us a line on the Contact Us page. Or follow us on Facebook – New Earswick Community Garden – NEST
